Ecotourism - Jobs for the Future

his Cambodian woman weaves baskets, carpets and boxes out of an invasive species of water hyacinthes that grows on the Tonle Sap lake. Her shop is based in the floating village of Prek Toal and is part of an ecotourism initiative named Osmose. A part of the benefits from her sales is distributed equally amongst all the workers at the shop, and the other part goes directly inside the organization's community fund. The money from the fund is used for various social benefits all throughout the village and promotes the creation of other sustainable, ecotourism projects.
